NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service
Free NHS Contraception Available at Your Local Pharmacy
The NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service (PCS) makes it easier than ever to access contraception without needing to book a GP appointment.
At participating PillBox Group pharmacies, our specially trained pharmacists can provide confidential advice, assess your suitability and, where appropriate, supply oral contraception through the NHS.
The service is free for eligible NHS patients and offers a convenient, professional and confidential alternative to visiting your GP or a sexual health clinic. The Pharmacy Contraception Service supports both initiation of oral contraception, ongoing supply and, under the current national service, oral emergency contraception.
What is the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service?
The NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service has been introduced to improve access to contraception by allowing eligible patients to receive care directly from trained community pharmacists.

Contraception counselling
Oral emergency contraception where available under the national service
Referral to your GP or sexual health clinic if appropriate
