Yellow fever - vaccination

Protect yourself against Yellow Fever before you travel with our private vaccination service. Recommended for travellers visiting destinations where Yellow Fever is present or where proof of vaccination is required for entry.

Protect yourself against Yellow Fever before you travel with our private Yellow Fever Vaccination service.

Yellow Fever is a serious viral infection spread through the bite of infected mosquitoes. It occurs in parts of Africa and South America, and some countries require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination before allowing entry.

Our Yellow Fever Vaccination helps protect you against infection and, where required, provides an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), commonly known as the Yellow Card, which may be needed for international travel.

Before vaccination, one of our healthcare professionals will review your travel plans, medical history and individual circumstances to determine whether the vaccine is suitable for you.

Who should consider the Yellow Fever vaccine?

The Yellow Fever vaccine may be suitable for:

  • Travellers visiting destinations where Yellow Fever is present

  • Travellers entering countries that require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination

  • People travelling to rural or jungle areas where there is a higher risk of mosquito bites

  • Long-term travellers and backpackers

  • Anyone wishing to reduce their risk of Yellow Fever while travelling

If you're unsure whether you need the Yellow Fever vaccine, our healthcare professional can provide personalised travel health advice based on your destination and itinerary.

What happens during your appointment?

During your appointment, one of our qualified healthcare professionals will:

  • Review your travel plans and medical history

  • Assess whether the Yellow Fever vaccine is suitable for you

  • Discuss the benefits and possible side effects of the vaccine

  • Administer the vaccination safely

  • Issue an International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) where applicable

  • Provide aftercare advice and answer any questions

The vaccination is given as an injection into the upper arm, and appointments usually take around 15–20 minutes.

Why choose PillBox Chemists?

  • Convenient private travel vaccination appointments

  • Experienced healthcare professionals

  • Personalised travel health advice

  • Professional and confidential service

  • International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) provided where applicable

  • Advice before and after your vaccination

Ready to travel?

If you're unsure which travel vaccinations you need, our healthcare professionals can review your destination, travel itinerary and vaccination history to recommend the most appropriate protection for your trip.

Depending on where you're travelling, you may also benefit from:

  • Hepatitis A Vaccination

  • Hepatitis B Vaccination

  • Typhoid Vaccination

  • Rabies Vaccination

  • Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio (Td/IPV) Vaccination

Please note

The Yellow Fever Vaccination is a private service and charges apply.

The Yellow Fever vaccine is usually given as a single dose. For most people, one dose provides lifelong protection, and booster doses are not routinely required.

Some countries have specific vaccination entry requirements, so we recommend arranging your appointment at least 10 days before travel, as the vaccine certificate becomes valid 10 days after vaccination.

Your healthcare professional will advise whether the vaccine is suitable for you and discuss any travel requirements relevant to your destination.
